Is ChatClip free?

Yes. ChatClip is completely free, with no account and no sign-up. Everything runs in your browser.

Are my messages or photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Your conversation, images, and the video are all created on your device and never sent to a server. When you close the tab, nothing is left behind.

What video format do I get?

An MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio) that plays everywhere and uploads straight to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Does the video include the message sounds?

Yes. The send and receive sounds are baked into the exported video, perfectly in sync — unless you turn on Mute.

Can I use my own photos as the profile pictures?

Yes. Click any participant's avatar to upload an image, and edit the name field to rename them. You can also add up to 6 participants for a group chat.

Can I add images or GIFs inside the chat?

Yes. Attach an image with the paperclip, or paste a Giphy link into a message and it becomes an animated bubble.
