Privacy

ChatClip runs entirely in your browser. Your conversation, the photos you add and the video it produces are created on your device and are never sent to us.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-up and no login. We don't ask for your name or email, and we have no database of your chats — because your chats never reach us in the first place.

What's stored on your device

Profile photos you upload are saved in your browser's localStorage so they're still there next time you visit. That data stays on your device, and you can remove it any time by clearing your browser's site data. Your messages aren't persisted at all — close the tab and they're gone.

Third parties your browser contacts

We don't upload your content, but loading any website involves some requests. To be straight with you, these are all of them:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes the requests needed to serve the page and may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics loads a small script that tells us how many people visit and how fast pages load. It's described under Analytics and cookies below.
  • Giphy — only if you choose to paste a Giphy link into a message. Your browser then loads that image directly from Giphy. If you never paste one, your browser never contacts them.

That's the whole list. The site's typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, so Google is not involved in loading this page and never sees your IP address.

None of them receives your conversation — not your messages, not your photos, not the video you export. There is no request that carries it, because it is built on your device and stays there.

Analytics and cookies

ChatClip sets no cookies — not for analytics, not for anything. There's no advertising, no tracking pixel and no cross-site profile of you.

We do run Cloudflare Web Analytics, so we can see whether anyone is actually using this. It's a cookieless script that records the page you landed on, the site that linked you here (if any), your country, and your device type, browser and operating system — plus how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare states that it does not collect visitors' personal data and does not track individual users across the sites that use it.

What it does not see is anything you do inside the tool. It measures page loads, and it has no hook into the editor — so we still don't know what you make, what you type, or how many videos you export. Your conversation never leaves your device either way.

Changes

If ChatClip ever adds something that changes this — for example an optional share-link feature that would, by necessity, store the chat you choose to share — this page will be updated to say so plainly, and any such feature will be something you opt into rather than a default.
