Terms of Use

ChatClip is a free tool for making chat-style videos. By using it, you agree to these terms. They're short, and the main rule is simple: don't use it to fool or hurt people.

Free to use, as it is

ChatClip is free. There's no account and nothing to sign. It's provided "as is", without any warranty of any kind — we don't promise it will always be available, work in every browser, or be free of bugs. You use it at your own risk.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using ChatClip, or from not being able to use it — including lost work or a video that didn't export.

Acceptable use

ChatClip is for fun and creative work: stories, skits, mock-ups and demos. You may not use it to:

• deceive people into believing a made-up conversation really happened;
• defame anyone, or damage a person's or a business's reputation with false messages;
• harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone;
• impersonate a real person without their consent;
• commit fraud or scams of any kind;
• create fake evidence meant to be presented as real — for example to an employer, a school, a court, the police, a platform or the press.

Also follow the law where you live, and the rules of any platform where you post your video.

Your content

What you make is yours, and so is the responsibility for it. Your conversation is built on your device and is never sent to us — see the privacy page — so we can't see, check or remove what you create. That's also why it's on you to use it fairly. Only upload photos you have the right to use.

The watermark

Exported videos include a small chatclip.app watermark by default. You can switch it off. Please don't use a video with the watermark removed to pass it off as a real chat.

Trademarks

ChatClip isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp or Meta. WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. iMessage is a trademark of Apple Inc. ChatClip produces original videos in a chat-style layout.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date below. If you keep using ChatClip after that, you accept the new version.
